FEP fluoroplastic hoses are mainly used in transparent versions and allow visual inspection of the media inside the hose. Fluoroethylene propylene (FEP) is a thermoplastically processable fluoroplastic with a wide temperature range. Compared to PTFE, a fluoropolymer hose offers advantages such as good formability, weldability and high optical transparency.
Transparent fluoroplastic tubing is characterized by very good electrical insulation, resistance to ageing and a non-porous, anti-adhesive inner surface. Transparent FEP tubing is used in particular when aggressive or sensitive media need to be safely conveyed and monitored at the same time. Common sterilization processes are possible without any problems.
Fluoroplastic tubing made of FEP has a high chemical resistance to acids, alkalis, solvents and gases. These properties make high-performance hoses particularly suitable for applications in medical technology, the pharmaceutical industry and food processing. Depending on requirements, FEP tubing is also available as a heat-shrink tubing or dual-wall version.
