When standard plastic fails too soon, use a special PEEK hose

As a technical distributor and supplier, ROTIMA provides specialty PEEKhoses for applications in which media contact, temperature, dimensional stability, and insulation must all be taken into account. The basis for a PEEK hose is the plastic polyetheretherketone. It is used when simple standard plastics fail prematurely and reach their limits due to creep, swelling, poor dimensional stability, or electrical weaknesses.

When it comes to a specialty PEEK hose, our experts don’t just test the material. Other critical factors include the inner and outer diameters, wall thickness, chemical exposure, mechanical guidance, temperature profile, and the subsequent interface with the assembly.

PEEK Specialty Hose - What Really Matters in Design

Our polyetheretherketone (PEEK) tubing is used for assemblies requiring high heat resistance, low water absorption, and good electrical insulation. ROTIMA also takes PEEK’s chemical resistance into account, as temperature and media contact must be evaluated together.

  • Our capillary tubing is used in confined spaces where precise inner diameters or low flow rates are required. These include PEEK capillary tubing, PEEK capillaries, HPLC capillaries, high-pressure capillary tubing, and high-pressure capillaries.
  • Our PEEK tubing can be used for fixed tubing routes. Spiral capillaries, spiral capillary tubing, or PEEK spiral capillary tubing are used when the bend radius, recovery properties, and installation path require them.
  • We also carry sizes such as 1/16 inch and 1/8 inch for analytical and fluid-handling systems. Depending on the medium, these can be requested as solvent tubing, alkali tubing, or acid tubing, provided that the material resistance, temperature, and pressure are suitable for the application.
  • Our high-temperature PEEK tubing is a good choice when sustained heat resistance and dimensional stability are more important than soft flexibility. As a chemically resistant PEEK tubing, this material is suitable for many technical media, but must always be tested for compatibility with the specific concentration, temperature, and duration of use.
  • Specialty PEEK hoses from ROTIMA, including technical consultation. Depending on your needs, we’ll evaluate your custom PEEK hose requirements and discuss whether you need a Victrex PEEK 450g, Sub-Lite-Wall PEEK hose, a PEEK hose with a 0.05 mm wall thickness, or a PEEK hose with a ±0.025 mm tolerance, etc.
  • In terms of design, we distinguish between the following applications: PEEK tubing for medical technology, PEEK tubing for the chemical industry, PEEK tubing for aerospace, and PEEK tubing for electrical assemblies. An electrically insulating PEEK tubing with high dielectric strength and stable dielectric properties can serve as a technical alternative to less dimensionally stable plastics.
  • We do not consider the glass transition temperature, continuous operating temperature, thermal conductivity of PEEK, and flame retardancy in isolation. This is because our UL 94 V-0-rated PEEK tubing is particularly relevant when flame retardancy and electrical safety must be documented together. And our PEEK tubing with high creep resistance reduces the risk of dimensional loss under continuous load and at elevated temperatures.
