Humidity sensors with capacitive technology for the electronics industry

Moisture sensors, such as those used in the electronics industry, are often based on capacitive measurement technology. This uses the change in electrical capacitance caused by the effect of moisture on a dielectric material. The sensors typically consist of two conductive electrodes and a polymer in between that absorbs moisture.

The measured change in capacitance is converted into an electrical signal that provides an indication of the relative humidity. Thanks to their compact design, the sensors can be integrated into devices and systems in a space-saving manner. They deliver extremely precise and stable measured values, even under changing ambient conditions.
